The Dominion is a master planned community that was developed in 1983. The first homes that where built in the Dominion occurred in 1983 or 1984. The Dominion is approximately 23 miles from downtown with a commute of about 29 -45 minutes. The Dominion has 3 main entrances into its subdivision; the first entrance is located on the access road off highway 10; the second entrance is located Tejas road, and the third entrance is located near Boerne Stage Road. The entrance into the Dominion is very long and beautiful; the main entrance passes the golf community/retirement community the Dominion Country Club. The Dominion features several different types of lots with different views of the city. The Real Estate there is private in nature because the community back up to Camp Bullis (A Large Military Base).
The Dominion offers some excellent shopping; it is located close by the Rim shopping center that includes one of the best and largest theatres in San Antonio (The Palladium). There is also several large retailers. In addition, the Dominion is located very close to La Cantera shopping mall. Just north of the Dominion there is a great deal shopping that is available off of Boerne Stage Road. There is a local groceries chain HEB; there are several retail stores located of the access road off highway 10. In a few minutes' drive, there's more shopping available for The Dominion, Costco and Sam's club are located nearby; in addition, there is a Target and more shopping available in very close proximity. There is an abundant supply of fancy and elegant dining places of highway 10; some of the best restaurants that are available in San Antonio are located near The Dominion.
