History of Alamo Ranch Real
Alamo Ranch began its development of building homes and selling real estate in 2006. The earliest records from SABOR MLS indicate that Pulte was the first builder to sell homes in Alamo Ranch. Pulte had very big plans for Alamo Ranch because they built one of the largest amenity centers in San Antonio that features soccer fields, outdoor aquatic center with water slides, basketball court, playscape, and hiking trails. This was their unique community feature. They also originally built 6 model homes that tailored a variety of price ranges. It was one of the biggest showings of model homes available in San Antonio. In an effort to attract more sales, Pulte closed down the original series of homes and built a new series of homes next door that was in more affordable price range. Pulte has closed down the next door generation and continues to build homes in Alamo Ranch.
Since its inception, Alamo Ranch has had several home builders that build in it's different part of communities. Dr. Horton, Plantation, Tristone, Chesmar, Gehan Homes, Ryland Homes, David Weekly, and Highland Homes are just some of the current builders building inside Alamo Ranch. Each of these builders offers different building benefits and each has different floor plans and price ranges.
This last part of history of Alamo ranch is very inconclusive because not much is known. It is believe that Alamo Ranch was before owned by Cordi-Marian Nuns. Evidence of Cordi-Marian nuns is still present because they retained part of the main compound and sold of what looks like their unused land to the developer that made Alamo Ranch.
Geography of Alamo Ranch Real Estate or Homes for Sale
Alamo Ranch is located Northwest of Downtown San Antonio. It is approximately 22 miles away with an estimated 28 min commute. Alamo Ranch has several entrances into it's subdivision its main entrance is Alamo Ranch ParKHay which is located off of Loop 1604 on the on ramp as you're going to enter 151 next to Alamo Ranch Shopping Center. There are 3 other main entrances into the Alamo Ranch subdivision, all 3 are located off of Culebra road; the first entrance it's name is Westwood Loop which is also the back way entrance into Alamo Ranch center the second entrance is Lone Star ParKHay and a third entrance is Alamo ParKHay. There are 2 smaller entrances into Alamo Ranch Subdivision, one is known as Roft road which is located of Culebra Road on the Westside of the subdivision. The other entrance is called Cottonwood Way, and it's located off Wiseman Road on the Southside of Alamo Ranch
Alamo Ranch offers some of the best shopping in San Antonio you will find several stores to choose from when it comes to shopping for groceries, shopping for clothes, for banking, for home improvement needs, for fine dining and also other shopping necessities.
Alamo Ranch is currently experiencing a boom in its shopping availability which means more and more new retail stores are opening near Alamo Ranch. The Alamo Ranch shopping center has further increased the shopping that will be available because it has a great deal of leasing space available.
Other Major points of interest, when it comes to shopping, are that San Antonio North Central is home to the largest HEB in the nation. In addition, there is Costco located in this area and many Credit Union like United SA Federal Credit Union.
Alamo Ranch is an excellent place to raise a family with low crime rates
higher socio an economical background of people including it’s presence
of military family make it an ideal location to move to.
There are many different types of cultures that live in Alamo Ranch, similar
to San Antonio, Alamo Ranch is a melting pot of cultures and people who
live in this subdivision.
Alamo Ranch has a high composition of families that live within this subdivision.
There are several parks that belong to the different communities within
Alamo Ranch that were built for a family type environment. All the recreation
parks are private and only homeowners are allowed to use them. All of the
parks have different features most of the parks feature: hiking trails,
playscapes, swimming pools, and some have water parks, soccer fields, and
club houses.
Alamo Ranch has an elementary and a middle school located within the subdivision
and the high school located next door on Culebra road. All the schools belong
to NISD. One of the top rated school districts in San Antonio.
For those that like shopping apart from the immediate area, La Cantera,
the Rim, Ingram Park mall.
Seawold is approximately 5 mins away and Fiesta Texas is about 15 min away.
If you like boating or fishing Medina Lake is about 15min away.
Alamo Ranch has a growing economy and it is set to grow more because there is still a great deal of commercial space available. Once the community can support the additional retail space will be built.
What makes Alamo Ranch economy so strong, is proximity to some big business located nearby and close proximity to Lackland Air Force base.
